Wolverine Football General Information
Welcome to Wolverine Football, our goal is to build an Elite Youth Football program. WYFC is here to serve the communities of Rancho Penasquitos, Poway and Santa Luz. We welcome all participants and we are willing to teach anyone regardless of your child’s designated home high school, No child is turned down because he or she is too large, too small or inexperienced.
This is the "next level" of youth football for our youth athletes to participate in, it will offer a higher level of organized teaching, learning and skill development similar to that found at any high school program. Because this level of play offers a unique opportunity for players to compete at an increased level of competition, it demands a stronger dedication and willingness of their minds and bodies to be successful. Above this, WYFC will fully support Safety, Sportsmanship, and Full Participation of every player without hesitation.
We are honored to be part of the largest youth football community in the World-American Youth Football (AYF). AYF serves over 1,00,000 members in all 50 states and serves several countries worldwide. In addition, AYF is proud to be a National Youth Partner of the NFL. And in San Diego, AYF is considered by many to be a top self program. AYF was founded under the principals that “everyone” can play and should play! Giving way to the All-American Division, a grade based, unlimited weight division. With this founding goal of being all-inclusive, AYF has continuously created new divisions to be able to give more kids the opportunity to play and compete with his/her peers. All are welcome, regardless of size, skill, athletic ability or means to pay.
WYFC & AYF programs are not permitted to conduct tryouts or cut players. Mandatory play roster will be kept for all games to ensure that all players on the roster play in every game. Minimum Play Requirements (MPR) are used in all AYF regular season games, tournament and championship play.
Ages K-8 Grade
AYF participants start at the grade of Kindergarten up to the 8th grade. So your child will play with his/her peers or classmates every year regardless of size or ability.
No child should ever be turned away form any local program because of inability to pay and no team will be turned away from AYF because of inability to pay the membership fee. AYF and its member organizations depend on sponsorships and donations to support these programs and youth in needs.
